Obama: Our Trojan Horse?
Who is Obama?
An odd question to ask more than two years into his presidency. Even after electing this man to the highest office of the land, however, we know pitifully little about him. There are hints, though.
Hint 1: He’s a creature of the far left. No one with his connections to the radically anti-American preacher, Jeremiah Wright, and to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers could be anything but a far left ideologue himself.
Hint 2: He’s lazy. While in the Illinois Senate he voted “Present” more than he voted either for or against legislation before that body. As a US Senator, he spent most of his time running for the presidency rather than doing the job he had. As president he has distinguished himself most for his penchant for golf and for taking vacations – abdocatomg the work of the presidency to his allies in Congress.
Hint 3: He’s a demagogic. He doesn’t focus on issues and engage in public discourse and debate. Instead he will demagogue an issue – blaming “millionaires and billionaires” for the woes of society; claiming that serious budget reform will through grandma over the cliff and compromise the care of vulnerable children. Demagogues play to the emotions of the mob – they avoid serious, intellectual engagement.
Hint 4: He’s a big government ideologue. Despite knowing that his tax and spend policies are exacerbating the nation’s economic woes, he continues to want more of the same: higher taxes (on the “rich”), and more spending to stimulate the economy. What he really believes in is big government – government so large and all encompassing that it rules over more and more aspects of our life. Aspects such as what light bulbs we use, what foods we eat, what doctors we will have access to, how much of the money made by our own labors we will be allowed to keep.
Had we known even these few things about Obama in 2008, we might have a war hero in the White House today, rather than a community agitator. Where was the press, where were the media? Are they so far in the tank for the left and it’s fortunes that they have been rendered incapable of fairly reporting the facts that the people need to make wise choices in the voting booth?
This president and his cronies now systematically strip Americans of their resources and their freedoms. We should have known what was coming, but the voices trying to warn us were like so many Cassandras – speaking the truth only to be disbelieved.
In the case of the Cassandra of myth, the failure to listen to her warnings was dire to the fortune of Troy.
Is Obama OUR Trojan Horse? Will anyone listen to the voices that now warn us of the danger he poses to America and her liberty?
